Carbon Offset
Tourism can contribute to fight against global warming. The current situation is mainly due to carbon dioxide and other polluting gas emissions produced by human activity and a resources consumption superior to the capacity of natural regeneration.
Traveling from one place to another in a motorized vehicle, especially by plane, produces a certain amount of carbon dioxide that can be offset by preserving and increasing natural areas.
Vitalideas is carrying out a project of Carbon Offset, which consists in planting at least 2.5 trees for each ton of Carbon produced by every trip, which will be offset in 15 years according to our Carbon Calculator. Plantations will take place with the contribution of rural communities, certainly the most directly affected by climate change. On the one hand, this will compensate a part of the contamination produced by bringing one person from one continent to another, and on the other hand it will create new source of income for community members.
Currently, Vitalideas is working with tour operators who are charging a carbon fee to their clients. As a company concerned by environmental issues, you can join our network and contribute to these global efforts through the implementation of a carbon tax for your clients traveling to Ecuador. This will permit to finance community development projects and help to reduce contaminating footprints of flights entering Ecuador.
